What does 'Tahqeeq' (Al-Tahqeeq) mean?

Tahqeeq (التحقيق) is the traditional Islamic discipline of meticulous verification and critical authentication. Al-Tahqeeq was named after this discipline to bring the same rigor to modern AI — verifying every answer against authentic classical hadith and Quran texts, with full citations.

Is Al-Tahqeeq trying to replace scholars?

No. Al-Tahqeeq is a research tool that surfaces evidence. Interpretation, fatwa, and ruling stay where they belong — with qualified scholars.

Our commitment

Al-Tahqeeq is built on trust. We collect the minimum data needed to operate and improve this site and to communicate with people who choose to join our founding circle. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Information we collect

1. Waitlist & contact forms

When you join the founding circle or use our contact form, we collect the information you provide — your email address, and optionally your first name. This data is submitted to Formspree (for the waitlist) and/or processed by our server (for contact inquiries). We use this information solely to communicate with you about Al-Tahqeeq.

2. Analytics

This site is served from our own server. We run no page analytics script: no Vercel Analytics and no Google Analytics. The only third-party measurement on the marketing pages is the Meta pixel described below, and the ask page sends your question to nobody but our own server and OpenAI. Our server keeps ordinary access logs (the address a request came from, the page, the time) for security and capacity, and nothing else.

3. Meta (Facebook) Pixel

We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our outreach campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. The pixel collects data such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. It uses cookies to track activity. Meta may use this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy.

4. Answering your questions

When you ask a question on the research page, the text of your question and the passages retrieved for it are sent to OpenAI's API to judge relevance and to phrase the answer, under OpenAI's API data-usage terms. Questions are logged on our own server without your name or email, to measure and improve answer quality.

We share data only with the service providers listed above (Formspree, Meta, OpenAI, Resend for contact-form email, and Contabo, which hosts our server) to operate this site. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your email address with anyone outside the Al-Tahqeeq team.
