About Al-Tahqeeq

Al-Tahqeeq was born out of a profound frustration with the state of Islamic knowledge in the AI era. As generative language models became ubiquitous, they brought a dangerous capability to the forefront: fluent, confident fabrication.

When asked religious questions, these models would invent hadiths that never existed, attribute them to classical scholars, and wrap them in the language of certainty. For a faith where preservation of the text is paramount, this isn't just a technical bug—it's a crisis of trust.

We realized that solving this wasn't about building a better chatbot. It was about building a reliable retrieval engine that respects the boundaries of classical scholarship. An engine that only surfaces authenticated texts, cites every single claim back to its source, and most importantly, stays silent when it doesn't know.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build the trust layer for all Islamic literature. We want to ensure that as the world moves toward AI-mediated answers, the words of the Prophet ﷺ and the scholarship of the tradition are preserved, accurately represented, and easily verifiable by anyone, anywhere.

We are not building a replacement for scholars. We are building a tool for research—a system that brings the library of Islamic tradition to the fingertips of the ummah, with uncompromising integrity.
